CUPE 7000 represents over 1100 workers at the BC Rapid Transit Company (SkyTrain Expo and Millennium Lines) and the Southern Railway of BC. We are tasked with keeping our transit and heavy rail moving in a safe and efficient manner, transporting over 150 million people annually on Skytrain and Southern Rail moving over 70,000 carloads per year.
BCRTC operates and maintains the SkyTrain Expo and Millennium Lines. With 39 passenger stations, close to 80 kms of track, and a world class operations and maintenance centre, it is the largest fully automated passenger train system in the world. Founded in 1897, Southern Rail operates out of New Westminster and is a major transporter of freight in BC.
